A Sunday Visit to City Bakery

The City Bakery is pretty much historic in New York City. They are also owners of Birdbath Green Bakery  which has locations within the city. They are most famous for their hot chocolate with homemade marshmallows. The marshmallow really makes it! I was in the city on a Sunday and was looking for breakfast when I realized I was in the area. The place is always very crowded on Saturdays, so I figured I would have the place to myself on a Sunday, and I was pretty right!
The bakery opened in 1990, the same year The Simpsons debuted. Every February, they have a hot chocolate festival, and for 28 days, a new flavor is available to enjoy. Some from last year were: Lemon, Chili Pepper, Dark Chocolate & Cherry Bitters, Smore-y, Caramel, Fresh Ginger, Banana Peel, Love Potion, French Follies. Their hot chocolate is really to die for and must be tried by everyone!
They offer great food items as well like the egg salad toast with smoked salmon

Pretzel croissant was just calling my name ever so loudly!

Everything looks so beautiful, it is hard to decide
I went with an oat scone and latte. I was a very happy person!
These cookies had just come out of the oven and smelled amazing!

If you are in the Union Square area, be sure to pop in this wonderful bakery and enjoy all the delights they have to offer.
