Holiday Express Toys and Trains Exhibit

I had to show you some of this lovely exhibit at The New York Historical Society which ran from October 27, 2017 - February 25, 2018 and is back each year during the holiday season. It really brings you back to your childhood and seeing these vintage toys along with the trains is pure joy.
From the historical society website:

A magical wonderland awaits visitors with the return of this holiday tradition. Featuring hundreds of toy trains, figurines, and miniature models from the renowned Jerni Collection, the exhibition’s immersive scenes and displays transport young and old alike to a bygone era. Holiday Express begins at the West 77th Street entrance, where trains appear to roar through the Museum with the help of four large-scale multimedia screens, and extends through large swaths of the first floor. Organized by Mike Thornton, associate curator of material culture.

I have some old trains that go around my Christmas tree but they do not still work. I am tempted to bring them to a shop to see if they can be repaired.
F.A.O. Schwarz was a great toy store.
This display was so much fun! I visited in January and it wasn't even very crowded.

This vintage item was way too cool.

The New York Historical Society is pretty neat and they have three cool exhibits coming up in 2018:
