Throwback Thursday "Trolley on Broadway"

This street level view shows Broadway looking north from Chambers Street. The building on the left with the red and white striped awnings is The Broadway-Chambers Building constructed from 1899-1900 which is still standing.

It would be so neat to be able to go back in time, and see New York City in this way! The policeman is in the middle of the street directing the traffic! That would not go over too well in 2016. I just love all the details in this postcard, and thrilled it survived for us to enjoy all these centuries later!
