Best of Brooklyn Tour

On a gorgeous Saturday, I was invited to take the Best of Brooklyn Tour with Tony Muia. I previously took the Pizza Tour, which was amazing, so I was looking forward to see different areas of Brooklyn. I really feel these tours are excellent as you don't have to worry about getting lost at any point of the day. A carefree day in Brooklyn is what you get with Tony and A Slice of Brooklyn Bus Tours.

You get to stop for lunch at the famous Junior's original restaurant. You can not go wrong with any item here, we were treated to a half corn beef sandwich, homemade pickles and cole slaw, fries, an Egg Cream and a piece of cheesecake. A full post on this stop will be coming shortly. What impressed me about Tony regarding the food of the tour, he does work with you if you cannot eat the corn beef or such, and will accommodate you as best he can. I can tell you that not all tours are this flexible, and I think that is a big credit to Tony and the type of tour that he runs. 

I always seem to find a wedding in New York City. Brooklyn was no exception!!

You also stop at Green-wood Cemetery  which is a National Historic Landmark opened in 1838 and home to many famous folks. Green-Wood has more than 560,000 permanent residents, including Leonard Bernstein, Boss Tweed, Charles Ebbets, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Louis Comfort Tiffany, Horace Greeley, baseball legends, politicians, artists, entertainers, inventors, and Civil War generals and other veterans (with more being discovered regularly by their Civil War Project).

The Wild Parrots of Brooklyn were adorable and a real treat to see in person. They are actually descendants from an original flock that came to Brooklyn in the 1960's.

I cannot recommend enough Best of Brooklyn Tour . It is a really great way to see different areas of Brooklyn and not have to worry about getting lost. The many places Tony takes you makes the day run so smooth, plus you have lunch too at the fabulous Junior's original location. I will be doing more posts on the areas we saw on the blog, there is just so much to show you. You do get to do some walking on this tour which is nice too especially if it's a great weather day. If you have any interest in seeing Brooklyn, and are not too familiar with the area, A Slice of Brooklyn Bus Tours is the way to go.
