Raffles Cafe' Review

Raffles Bistro Cafe is located on Lexington Avenue and East 48th Street in The Lexington NYC Hotel. I am a big fan of this area, as have stayed here many times when in the city for the US Open. It's a great area to stay in because it isn't so touristy and less crowded. I probably visited Raffles at least 5 years ago while staying at The InterContinental New York Barclay around the corner. I was looking for a dinner, not fancy, nor expensive and thought I would pop in again.

I am a sucker for French Onion Soup and decided to try it, pretty tasty and a nice portion size.

My waiter told me he was new, seemed to be my day to get new workers for some reason. I had ordered a turkey burger with avocado, he asked me a few times what I wanted, then brought out a salmon burger. Now, I do like salmon burgers, but I was a bit ticked I didn't get the right order. The staff were lucky I wasn't someone who was allergic to seafood or it would have been a big issue. It was tasty, and generous sized, the pineapple on top went well with the salmon. When I was ready to pay, I wasn't sure where my waiter went, had to flag someone else down to get my bill. Probably the last time I stop in here, sometimes you just need to check things out one more time. When I went before, I had breakfast, and I do remember it was good, which is why I decided to try again. The place is very small considering it is for the hotel guests, but during my visit it wasn't very crowded. I ended up spending $35.00 for dinner, and told myself I should have just gone to the Grand Central Oyster Bar!
