Photo Gallery Tuesday "A $24,000 Diamond Brooch"

This was an amazing 18 karat, platinum, and diamond flower brooch by David Webb, at the Brooke Astor auction by Sotheby's. From the year 1970, in a flower design, weighed about 11.60 carats. The estimate was between $7,000-$9,000 US dollars. The brooch sold for $23,750.00. Quite a nice profit on this gorgeous piece. Even though most of us will never own something this valuable, it is so cool that you can see them in person, and even try them on, at these great auction houses! It is always a good idea to see what Sotheby's or Christie's may be showing while you visit New York City.

Good Morning Rosemary, Thank you so much for visiting me at Ivy, Phyllis and Me! I am sorry it has taken me a little while to visit you, but I have had one of those weeks which has been packed to the gunnels. Everything has calmed down, so I have popped over to say hello and to become a new follower.
I love brooches, and although I will never own such a spectacular brooch as this, I do own quite a few gorgeous brooches which I have picked up along the way. The value of my brooches are just pennies, but that does not matter as it is all about the style.
I am now going to take a leisurely stroll around Greenwich Village with you.
Best Wishes to you,
Daphne
