Made in New York February 2013

Another month has flown by! I cannot believe how fast the days are going but here we are for our Made in New York Feburary 2013. Since some of you had problems viewing the slide show for January's post, I decided to make the collage below to make it easier. Four great businesses based in New York with unique and fun products. Please let me know if you have anyone you would like to suggest me to feature in this post for upcoming months. I always appreciate my readers ideas!!

Top - Left to Right

Tumbador Chocolate made in Brooklyn with Lil' Red Velvets - Red Velvet Cake with cream in center and enrobed in chocolate! The owner, Jean-Francois Bonnet worked for the fabulous restaurant, Daniel, so you know he is serious about what he does. They also make a Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Cookie, I drooled at that one! I need to try something from this place very soon.

Ellen Christine Couture located in Chelsea, hand makes each gorgeous hat for various occasions. They are really works of art that you can wear, and what great fun that must be!

From her website:
When you visit Ellen Christine in her Hudson Square shop in NYC, don't expect to see a frail wisp of a woman wrapped in lace. Ellen Christine often holds forth in a Forties jacket, velvet leggings and motorcycle boots. Her ability to time travel in style made Ellen Christine a valuable resource for movie productions such as Barbara Streisand's The Mirror has Two Faces, and for magazines such as Vanity Fair and Italian Vogue. Ellen Christine and her shop have become exciting discoveries for women who view fashion not just by the current season's trends but also by the accumulation of charm and creativity.

Her hours are by appointment only.
99 VanDam St., 4E, by appointment only

I say treat yourself one day to a memorable hat and make your fashion statement!!

Amazing body scrubs  and all are paraben free and have no added preservatives. Naki Nagi was created in 2011 by Rachel Rekhter, who has a background in culinary arts and business. The Naki Nagi collection features a great selection of preservative-free, invigorating products that are blended by hand, smell great—and leave your skin feeling even better. Made with a unique proprietary scrub base, each scrub is made to order and leaves your skin exfoliated, revitalized and hydrated - all without excess oil and no harmful parabens.

In February 2013, Naki Nagi launched its extensive SLS (Sulfate) Free collection, featuring almost 20 flavors that your skin is sure to love. These scrubs exfoliate, hydrate and leave your skin feeling amazing. They are great for a variety of skin ailments, including dry skin, acne, eczema, ingrown hairs and more.

Jupitor Jewelry - another great company who sells on Etsy from NY, NY gorgeous and unique jewelry in all price ranges. I just loved this "love" necklace, which comes in white, yellow and rose gold. They use old-world European techniques to achieve the most stunning pieces. I can see myself with at least one of their pieces, I need to behave these days but it would be something I would have forever.

I hope you enjoyed this month's selection and stay tuned for the new fabulous companies in March who produce products "Made in New York" !!
