A Nation in Mourning

The photo taken above is from St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City. As well as the rest of the world, I am just in sheer disbelieve as to what went on Friday at the Sandy Hook school in Connecticut. I am not a parent myself, but I cannot imagine what these poor people are going through. I first saw the news of this on twitter on Friday, and was not aware of the full magnitude of what had happened right away. As I was hearing the news on the radio, I was just in utter shock. Those poor innocent children have had their lives ended way too soon. The faculty who risked their lives to save the other children makes you realize there are true heroes in this horrible tragedy. I had heard on the news from the catholic priest that we now have 20 new little angels watching over us.                         I thought that sounded quite right.

The United Way of Western Connecticut, in partnership with Newtown Savings Bank, created the Sandy Hook School Support Fund to help provide support services to the families and community that are affected.
Check donations may be mailed to:

Very welcome as I thought it would be the best idea to help those in such sadness at the moment.

I was watching FOX News this morning while eating breakfast...it still hurts my soul to think someone would do this. I just can't imagine sending off my youngster to school, and never have him/her return home.

It was indeed a very somber weekend in my home. My heart is so heavy for Newtown. God bless us all.

Have a great day Rosemary!
