The Australian Ballet in New York City

The Australian Ballet and Bangarra Dance Theatre in Rites Paris 2008 Photo by Lisa Tomasetti

I received an email from The Australian Ballet yesterday extending an invitation for me to attend one of their performances this week in New York City. Unfortunately, I am not able, but I wanted to let those know that have any interest in ballet. Here is some information regarding this amazing dance company:

The Australian Ballet is in New York for the first time since 1999. They will be performing 2 ballets during their stay here: Infinity and Swan LakeInfinity is a triple bill presented in collaboration with the Bangarra Dance Theatre, Australia's national indigenous dance company. All 3 of the works performed are making their North American debut with Infinity. This particular production of Swan Lake was choreographed by Graeme Murphy, who is renowned for retelling traditional stories with a twist. This production of Swan Lake is not to be missed.

There are tickets available for purchase to the public through our website: Australian Ballet

If you are a ballet fan, I would imagine this would be a highly exciting event to attend this week. Please post a comment if you do attend and how you enjoyed the performance!!
