Brasserie Ruhlmann

On the Wednesday we attended the 2011 House Beautiful Kitchen of the Year in Rockefeller Center, it was a really hot day.....The Taste of Summer is an event with many Rock Center restaurants offering food. This was AJ Maxwell's Steakhouse .......
they had some great items but we needed to get into an air conditioned place........
Brasserie Ruhlmann was the first place we walked by and went in.......I had known about it for a long while but never had lunch/dinner here before ....
the place was hopping for a Wednesday and it was really very crowded .....
we ended up eating the same foods, this was the Gazpacho, with a yummy fried oyster, which was tasty but we were not expecting such a large size....didn't finish or no room for the main course
Lobster Cobb Salad....this was really excellent and quite filling. The food was very good, everything is separate, even your bread. I had asked for some but didn't get it until we were done because they were so busy then my friend said we were charged for it. I was glad I took a little piece of it when it arrived. The main issue was slow service, and I realize they were very busy with a large lunch crowd,  but they still should have been a bit more efficient. If you are looking for a really nice place to dine, this is a good choice. It is French cuisine in the heart of Rockefeller Center.
