Magnolia Bakery to open in Bloomingdales Summer 2011

Bloomingdale's 59th Street and Magnolia Bakery Announce Freshly Baked Alliance

NEW YORK, April 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Bloomingdale's and Magnolia Bakery today announced the companies' official partnership. Magnolia Bakery, renowned for its nostalgic, freshly made baked goods, will open in Bloomingdale's flagship store (1000 Third Avenue) in summer 2011.

Magnolia Bakery's owners, Steve and Tyra Abrams, are excited to work with the Bloomingdale's team to offer the store's clientele, as well as all others, the renowned Magnolia Bakery experience of exceptional customer service and fresh, hand-made desserts. I am loving this idea!! I really like the hours as they are open really early and really late. Bloomingdales is one of my favorite New York stores as I remember going with my aunt and just being so in awe of the place. It is really like no other store in the world !!

I am not surprised however since the Los Angeles based "Sprinkles" is opening May 13th on Lexington Avenue between 60 and 61st Streets ...near Bloomingdales !! It should be very interesting to see what kind of "cupcake war" this turns out to be......I know I will be trying Sprinkles when I am in the city the middle of May .....only time will tell !!
