IL Cantuccio Biscotti di Leonardo Part 2

This is Part 2 as is my second visit to Il Cantuccio in the west village. They really have the most wonderful baked goods as well as decor. I was in the city with some friends who had not been to this great shop so we had to stop. Plus I needed to take a few more things home. They opened in April of this year and my first visit was in May.
I just love the outside of the place...so quaint and so very italian !!

when you walk in, they are right there with the wonderful cantucci cookies which is a speciaity from Prato, not far from Florence, Italy

made without butter or oil so very healthy for you

focaccia is wonderful as well ...loved these photos on the wall

it is very hard to decide what to try here.........

you feel like you are stepping back in time in Italy .........

this is my "must-stop" place when in the west village.....

cute seating in the front area and also in the very back when weather is nice

these looked so wonderful and make a great lunch

they also serve this type of focaccia ...can't go wrong either way

the pizza is amazing made with the focaccia dough, light and crispy

there is an area where you can see them baking ....

they were very friendly to me when I mentioned my blog and posting about the shop that they allowed me behind to take some shots of the owner, Simone Bertini, and his adorable son ........I would be that happy too if I worked at this great place!!

baking the “Bruttiboni” (“ugly-but-good”), also known as "Mandorlati di San Clemente," are sweets typical of Prato...if you like almonds....these are just amazing and soo good!!

these are the cookie being made above with the almonds and the chocolate chunk cantucci which are fabulous! The cantucci also comes in prune, apricot, almond, and fig. Everything is made by hand and you can tell the care that has gone into baking every product.

What a lovely shop! The bakeries don't even look that good in Italy! I would have stocked up bread for weeks worth!

Mmmmmm makes my mouth water. What a great shop. Pity it is thousands of miles away.
