Cafe Sabarsky at the Neue Galerie

One of my favorite places in the city is Cafe Sabarsky. It is located on the Upper East Side, a great area of the city, much more slow pace than midtown and seems like home. 5th Avenue and East 86th Street, this is near some of the great museums of the city: Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Guggenheim so if you are planning a trip to one of these great places, think of this for lunch. You will not be disappointed, trust me!!! Here we go....
looks like we are in Vienna, doesn't it ?
the gallery was conceived by 2 men: Serge Sabarsky and and Ronald S Lauder.....it is devoted to early 20th century German and Austrian Art and Design. They dreamed of opening a museum and when Mr Sabarsky died in 1996, Mr. Lauder carried on the vision of the gallery as a tribute to his friend.
this was my wonderful coffee and it tasted sooo good.....just loove this photo
my wonderful friend who was lucky to be with me on this trip had a apple strudel and she said it was the best she ever had.....she ate the whole thing..............
one of my most favorite photos, the very much pastry art of Klimttorte ...a chocolate and hazelnut cake with whip cream.....it was just amazing
I tried really hard to finish it but it was hard work.......this is a definate must try when in the city .......

Ohmigosh Rosemary you are TOTALLY killing me with this post. I literally want to live here. Also, I have thought of the perfect song to listen to while visiting this Cafe - Oppenheimer's "Breakfast in NYC." Love!

By the way, received the Zagat's Guide a few days ago. Can I just say...AMAZING? Each place sounds more fabulous than the last - I want to visit them all!! :)

It all looks so delicious! How do you find all these wonderful places? I have such a weakness for whipped cream that I could be served a dish of just that, and be very happy :)
