Slash : Paper Under the Knife MAD Museum

One of the exhibits I had the privledge to view was Slash: Paper Under the Knife at the MAD museum in Columbus Circle. I was going for the pin exhibit but this was also there and caught my attenion. It was amazing what people can do with one of the simpliest of materials...paper. They did not allow photos at the exhibit but you can view some things on their website. The exhibit is available for view until April 4, 2010 if you happen to be in the city - take a peek at it. They also have a fabulous gift shop, all price ranges and some really neat gift ideas. The jewelry is to die for !!!

Upon my walking up west 57th Street, I came across a paper exhibit I could photograph. Kate's Paperie had clothing made out of paper....seems they also were a sponsor of the exhibit:

after I saw the dresses I came across the sign in the window............
how great are these windows? soo talented....wonder if they ever did paper dresses on Project Runway??
p close you can tell it is paper and I love the cut out flowers around the dresses as well .......
this was my favorite one ...........
this one is pretty as well with the reflection as well.......does this make you want to go out and try to make a paper dress???

Wow, I can't believe that those dresses are made out of paper! It almost looks like fine silk.

I'm so glad that you took the pictures of the dresses at another Kate's location! Makes me happy. Thanks!
