Bumbleberry Farms Honey Cream Spreads

Honey Cream Spread - sounds quite luxurious, doesn't it ? I am a HUGE fan of honey and making it into a spread just makes it even better. I was thrilled when Bumbleberry Farms contacted me to try their new line of honey cream spreads. The lovely flavors are Lover's Sea Salt Caramel, Squirrel Crazy, Sticky Buns Cinnamon and Molten Lava Spiced Chocolate. 

The average worker honeybee makes just 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in her lifetime. This means it takes 1,152 honeybees to fill a one pound jar of honey! Honey is also one of the foods that never spoils and was actually found in the pyramids in Egypt. 

Bumbleberry Farms is a small operation based in Pennsylvania's Laurel Mountains, and everything is crafted in small batches. 

These spreads are great on just about EVERYTHING or on a spoon right out of the jar! Scones, oatmeal, toast, pancakes, yogurt, muffins, baking are some of the uses for these creams. 

You can even melt the honey cream to add to coffee drinks or smoothies! I love the fact that even though they store in the fridge once opened, they are still spreadable very easily. 

Here is a fantastic recipe from their website for Pork Chops with the Maple Cream as a glaze: 

Ingredients
Pork Chops:

4 bone-in, center cut pork chop

Olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

Maple Balsamic Glaze:

1/4 cup Squirrel Crazy Maple Cream

3-4 tbsp balsamic vinegar

2 tbsp vegetable stock

1 clove garlic, minced

1 sprig fresh rosemary

1 sprig thyme

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions
For the glaze:

In a small saucepan, combine all of the glaze ingredients. Heat over medium-low heat until it reaches a low boil (just be cautious, the cream has sugar in it, so be sure it doesn't burn). Cook until the sauce reduces slightly and then set aside.

For the pork chops:

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Dry the pork chops with a paper towel and then season with olive oil, salt and pepper. Place a drizzle of oil in an oven proof skillet and heat to medium-high. Place the pork chops in the skillet and sear them for 2-3 minutes. Brush them with the glaze.

Flip the pork chops over and brush the other side with the glaze. Transfer the pork chops to the oven and bake for 5-8 minutes, or until a thermometer reads 140 degrees.

Drizzle a bit more glaze to serve.

Sunrise Soap Company

I visited the Sunrise Soap Company last year and wanted to share the shop with you. I love homemade soaps and scrubs, you know what the product is made from and you are giving sales to a small business!  

When you walk in, the smell is so fantastic! The shop is located in York, Pa but they do sell their products online.  

Homemade soap is so awesome and this smelled so good. I did purchase one of these and it was very hydrating on the skin.  

These pumpkin soaps smelled good enough to eat!  

I loved the various scents of the scrubs. Scrubs are great for removing the dead skin and allows for your body cream to absorb much better.  

These looked good enough to eat even though they were soaps!  

You can actually watch them making the soap in the shop which I thought was pretty cool  

Their prices online include shipping which I think is pretty great, an easy way to shop for some homemade soaps and lotions. They even have items for your pets as well!

A Visit to The Big Chocolate Show NYC 2017

I attended The Big Chocolate Show on Friday for the media. I have never attended this show before, and was excited to see what they had to offer. It is much smaller than the chocolate show that used to be in the city for many years. The cost was $45 in advance, $50 at the door. Travelzoo was offering discounted tickets at $29 which is a great deal. It is a fun event, so many unique chocolate ideas in one place! Okay, let's see some of the vendors at the show! 

Cocoa Supply was very impressive for me who loves to bake. Quality ingredients make such a difference in baking or cooking. This site carries cocoa powders, vanilla beans and extracts plus organic products. I was given some of their baking cocoa to try and I cannot wait to do so!  

Gorgeous designs that are completely edible!  

A chocolate shoe is my kind of shoe!  

These infusion kits were very interesting 

I was sad to not find many chocolates with peanut butter but this one mixed with corn was a very interesting texture and flavor!  

Unicorn bars look too pretty to eat!  

Yes, I found a bar with my namesake herb in it! I was a bit nervous as I know the herb Rosemary can be a bit strong, but this bar was very interesting. It was a very subtle flavor, I really enjoyed it.  

A very interesting gift idea from Noteworthy Chocolates to send a chocolate message as a gift. They use Guittard chocolate which is one of the best in the land. So good and creamy! You can receive 25% off your online order by October 15, 2017 with code SWEET25. A very unique gift.  

 

1892 Chocolates are made in New Jersey and the ladies at the booth were very lovely. The chocolate was very tasty as well, and I loved the packaging.

Fairytale Brownies was something I was familiar with but never tasted. I was happy to see them, their products are really very tasty and make great gift ideas. They are in business since 1992, and they offer FREE SHIPPING on their website for all orders. You will make someone really smile to receive these as a gift!  

William Dean Chocolates were probably the most elegant I saw at the show. How gorgeous are these chocolate paintings?  

Scharffen Berger is one of the most most famous for baking. When you use their products, your goodies will just taste 100 times better. They are carried in my local Wegmans, thank goodness, for purchase whenever I feel the baking urge.  

This event was fun and the vendors had very unique products, I hope next year it may be a bit larger of a vendor selection. If you are a lover of chocolate, you will really enjoy the show. When you attend a smaller show, you don't feel overwhelmed and can go through at a slower pace. You do not have to worry about missing any vendors as you can take your time through each one.

One of the reasons I love social media and blogging, is being able to find out about products that are very unique. This is not a sponsored post by any means. I was so thrilled to purchase some items, the body butter is just so thick and wonderful! I have to be careful not to use it all at once! The scents are really very lovely as well, not overpowering, light and classy.
