Atlantic Grill Restaurant Review 2020

Happy March everyone! We have had such a wonderful mild winter in the Northeast, I feel very lucky indeed! Today we are stopping by the Atlantic Grill which is located right across from Lincoln Center. It has been in the neighborhood since 1998, and I have now visited a few times which have been fantastic. I love a restaurant where you can find good food and a lovely relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant specialty is seafood, raw bar but they do offer a few non-seafood items like burgers and chicken. If you are a lover of sushi, this would be a great place to visit.
I visited in January with a friend for Winter Restaurant Week and we enjoyed some very fine dishes. The salmon with black rice was really wonderful and my friend cleaned her plate!

I had shrimp with polenta croutons and garbanzo beans - very light and tasty

I then went back solo for brunch and was not disappointed at all. This wonderful hot bread basket was brought before the meal. They offered me a free cocktail or coffee with my meal, which I thought was lovely, not sure if it is done with every brunch on weekends but a nice touch.

This time I tried the crab cake sandwich which was very tasty and large portion. The crab cake was mostly crab, no filers, and the fries were crisp and fresh

I have a feeling this will be one of my go-to spots when in this area. Dinner is more pricey so I would advise to enjoy for lunch/brunch or they also offer Monday to Friday prix-fixe dinner until 7pm for $50.00 and prix-fixe lunch until 4pm for $30.00.

Atlantic Grill Restaurant Review

Someone explain to me how it is July 31st ? I don't know where this year is going! Last year I spent my birthday in the city and dined at Atlantic Grill located in the Upper West Side. It was a wonderful choice after seeing The Nutcracker Ballet (you must go if you have not, it is beyond fantastic). I spend quite a bit of time on the UWS as it's so much more of a neighborhood feel as well as great dining and shopping along with museums. I choose the scallop dinner, seafood is my favorite, and they were just so delish!

Wonderful fish with veggies and rice
For the chocolate lover, a top dessert AND
For my birthday, a lovely surprise along with some Prosecco on the house for myself and my friend, and a bag of their chocolate cookies to take with me. The food and service was divine and I hope to head back when in the area, they have lunch/brunch specials which look top notch. Sushi is a big menu item here if you are a fan, lots of choices. The restaurant has been in this location near Lincoln Center for 20 years!

Dining at Eataly

I figured this wonderful photo of chocolates would get your attention! We are dining at Eataly, and if you have never visited, you must! The food here is amazing, and they have quite a few restaurants to dine which are all fantastic. This time I picked Il Pesce which mainly serves seafood, which I just adore. I am so not a steak person, I love so many different kinds of seafood. I can't even say which is my favorite!
I just LOVE Smeg appliances, don't you? They are the coolest in the world.
My dinner choice was scallops and they were so yummy. Cooked a very simple way, but when you use a few good flavors like garlic and olive oil, you are one happy person.

I didn't photograph but I also ordered green beans to go with my seafood and they were pretty wonderful as well. This restaurant is a first come first serve as far as seating but if you are a seafood lover like myself, you won't mind a little wait. It is well worth it!
Such great selection of homemade pasta to take home!
I love these Italian candies containers, so adorable!
A cookie with a pool of Nutella inside makes for a great dessert at the end of the day!

What is your favorite spot in Eataly to dine?

A Stroll Through Grand Central Market

Do you believe February is almost gone? Just a few more days and March is here! I thought I would share some wonderful photos from the Grand Central Market which is always mouth watering.
The most amazing seafood will be found here, you cannot purchase it any fresher than this! I am a huge seafood fan, not really a meat eater, so this is my heaven.

These looked so beautiful, you feel bad eating them.

Wonderful selection of olives and pickels and the smell is quite nice too!
Italian cheese selection and meats is very extensive
You can also find fun gift ideas here too

These gluten free items looked really tasty
Who loves lemon cake? This would be high on your list.
The famous black and white cookies must be tried by all. They are pretty much like cake, so moist and vanilla flavored cookie.
Anything Jacques Torres makes will be yummy!
If you have never had gelato, downstairs at Jacques Torres is a must taste. It is so darn good, a bit better than your regular ice cream.

10 Best Seafood Restaurants in NYC

I am a huge seafood lover. I really do not eat a whole lot of meat, but I love a good burger. There are so many fantastic seafood restaurants in the city, I felt it was good to do a top 10 listing. There really isn't much seafood I do not eat, love oysters, salmon, haddock, shrimp, scallops, calamari. Funny thing is lobster is not a huge favorite of mine, but I had a lobster roll at Cull and Pistol which was pretty fantastic. I think as long as the seafood is the freshest available, it will be quite tasty. We always had the Feast of the Seven Fishes at Christmas Eve and I looked forward to it each year.

Here they are, in no particular order:

1. Le Bernardin - Chef Eric Ripert's most elegant and tasty seafood restaurant

2. Lure Fishbar - Wonderful Soho location with yacht design, amazing raw bar here

3. Oceana - Fantastic American seafood and very extensive wine list

4. Marea - Italian seafood by Chef Michael White

5. The John Dory Oyster Bar - If you love oysters, this is the place to be!

6. Burger and Lobster - Combining 2 of the greatest foods!

7. Grand Central Oyster Bar - The oysters are amazing however very extensive menu.

8. A Taste of Seafood - Amazing fried seafood

9. Red Hook Lobster Pound - For all the lobster lovers

10. Cull and Pistol - Located in Chelsea Market, totally amazing seafood including fresh oysters

Lunch with Fat Witch Bakery at Cull and Pistol

I think one of my most favorite parts of being a blogger is getting to meet folks whose products I have adored for years. Such is the case with Pat Helding, who I recently had the pleasure of joining for lunch on a very hot summer NYC day. Pat started Fat Witch back in 1991, and I can't even remember how long I have been enjoying these most amazing brownies. I would suggest to just about anyone who visits the city, to stop here and pick up a few.
Fat Witch is also available in Japan which I think is very cool.
The candies are also just too adorable for words! These items make a great NYC basket for your family and friends!

We had the most amazing lunch at Cull and Pistol within Chelsea Market. I am a HUGE seafood lover, meat is really not my thing, and finally tried raw oysters for the first time! They were amazing and agreed with me just fine. I make my own breaded ones, just never tried the raw but now I am hooked!
I had a most amazing lobster roll and I must say, this is the first one I have really actually enjoyed!
Pat had the wonderful soft shell crab bao buns.
Okay, back to the brownies. I wanted to let you know that some of the flavors from Japan are in the Chelsea Market shop. They are the brownie babies (which I just LOVE the size) in Matcha, Almond, Citrus and Honey.
My favorites are the honey and the matcha, but the almond is very good as well. I love the fact they are all individually wrapped so you can pop them right in your freezer, and take them out when you want a piece of sweetness! Brilliant!

Fat Witch Bakery does ship which is also brilliant as they make great gifts for any occasion! What family member or friend wouldn't be thrilled to receive these tasty treats? I love promoting things that I really enjoy myself, and want to be sure you know to check them out when in this fabulous city they call New York!!
