The Chanel Gown at “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology”

It has been a crazy few months in New York City! I will be having so much new to show you in the coming weeks. We are finally viewing the fabulous exhibit Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology at my favorite museum, The Met !

I felt this wedding gown by Karl Lagerfeld was too gorgeous to just show a few photos. This gorgeous gown is a Renaissance-style wedding dress designed in 2014-15. Made from creamy synthetic scuba knit — which holds shape very well — it has a 20-foot train painted and printed with slightly pixelated gold foliate pattern based on a sketch by Mr. Lagerfeld. It was just a real treat to view in person. I hope you enjoy this post, and get excited, because there is more to come!

“Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” runs through August 14, 2016 at

These great images from the Chanel store were too good not to share. They always have the prettiest ladies in their designs. Those gloves reminded me of Madonna, would love a pair of those! Everything here is just fabulous, don't you think? Chanel will always be in style! Hope your Thursday is the best day of the week!!

Chanel Windows Through the Years

These photos were taken various years of Chanel windows. Some were from Saks Fifth Avenue and others from the Chanel store itself. It amazes me how these are just timeless designs. They are classic and can be worn anytime, anywhere. Coco Chanel sure knew what she was doing.

A little Chanel and Bergdorf Goodman

My recent trip to the city for a few days consisted of some shopping. Well, more like window shopping but fun nonetheless. These photos were all taken with my Samsung Galaxy phone, which shocks me at times how well it takes shots. I was trying to be quick taking these, so my big Canon wasn't going to be brought out. This f a b u l o u s Chanel Russian Nesting Doll blew my mind! Could it not be more adorable? This was in Bloomingdale's and I had to be able to show you.
This coat was just silly. Silly in a good way of course. Chanel. Pearls. Rhinestones. Ultimate Detail.Classic. J'Adore!!
I then headed to Bergdorf Goodman, which I normally photograph their windows, this time to the 7th floor.
Displays that will just blow your mind.
This place setting looks like something that would be in Buckingham Palace!!
I just loved this statue at this table setting. So adorable! Even if you cannot afford to purchase anything, this floor is a treat for the eyes and gives you the chance to see items that you do not see everyday.

Saks Fifth Avenue March 2012 Chanel Windows

Saks Fifth Avenue and Chanel are two names that are noted for their style, class and quality. When we were in the city in March, Saks had their windows adorned with Chanel products. The mannequins alone are just gorgeous. I loved the hair with pearls throughout, how great for a wedding or prom look? Simple yet oh so elegant. I though I would list some of Coco Chanel's best quotes while we view these works of art.
The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.
The best color in the whole world, is the one that looks good, on you.
There are people who have money and people who are rich.
A woman has the age she deserves.
My reason for choosing diamonds is that, dense as they are, they represent the greatest worth in the smallest volume.
Nature gives you the face you have at twenty; it is up to you to merit the face you have at fifty.
I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little - if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny. And it's best to be as pretty as possible for destiny.

A Chanel Collage

These were the wonderful windows of Chanel in Soho. The sun was mighty strong that day, but these images came out quite interesting. I love the girl on the left, the cat eye.....the flowers in the hair....holding her Chanel compact......The top right photo has a Halloween feel to it with the mask....black lipstick....the ultimate-cool Chanel long pearl necklaces layered up a storm.......The bottom right photo shows that Black nail polish done the right way as only Chanel knows. The company knows how to be smart, elegant and stylish 102 years after it began by Coco Chanel.
