Merry Christmas from New York City

I thought it would be fun this Christmas Day to spend it in New York City! Come with me as we enjoy the lights, sights and foods to be celebrated on this day. We start at the Peninsula Hotel, heading out after a good nights sleep..........
How can you not LOVE their gingerbread house of the hotel ? So fantastic
Breakfast is calling on this Christmas Day, so we head to Financier Patisserie, one of my faves for a Almond Brioche and a wonderful latte......now off walking we go.......
Ahh, the front of Trump Tower with many stars all over the building looks so pretty
The BEST holiday windows, in my opinion, are Bergdorf Goodman. We have seen so many of the major stores close this year like Henri Bendel and Barneys, but Bergdorf's is a staple. A great way to see the windows is with the Holiday Lights and Movie Sites tour with On Location Tours, this is available on Christmas Day, when there is very little to do in the city.

Upon viewing this gorgeous jewel tree in Bergdorf's window, I bought one for myself on Etsy. So darn fantastic, I keep it up all year round!
Walking some more, the big snowflake dangling from the sky....always so pretty ....I am getting hungry for some lunch, what about you ?
Cartier....now this is just gorgeous but I am still thinking what to do for lunch on Christmas Day?
Did someone suggest Afternoon Tea at the Plaza Hotel? They are closed Christmas Day but you can do the festive tea any time prior or after.
These little sandwiches look so yummy....I must thank the person who suggested this today.......
Dessert collection has ...cannolis flavored with gingerbread in the ricotta filling......it does feel like Christmas now, for sure!!
Toy Soldiers are all at attention looking very regal .........
The Fendi store always looks so lovely during Christmas season
The famous Radio City Music Hall ..........
Rockefeller Center is lighted so beautiful this time of year....you can hear the Christmas tunes, can't you?
the oh-so-pretty angel.........
the famous tree itself which you can view very easily from the On Location Tours holiday tour which I prefer than dealing with the crowds
Ahh, finally a place to sit and rest my feet.....dinner will be at Bryant Park Grill which is so festive during the holiday season!
Crab cakes are one of my favorites
Mushroom ravioli is so delish
we are back at the hotel now.........
admiring their gorgeous Christmas tree and heading back to our room for a good night sleep in the big apple...........

Hope you all have a most wonderful Christmas with family, friends, good food and memories made to last a lifetime...........

Lunch at Bryant Park Grill

I was in the city in December for a day and decided to dine at the Bryant Park Grill. I have always walked past, but never enjoyed a meal. It really is a beautiful setting, especially during the holiday season.

This is not a bad view while you are dining!
I had a crab cake with honey mustard sauce which was amazing and all crab, not much filler.
I just love seafood!
Wild Mushroom Ravioli
grilled artichoke, blistered cherry tomatoes, spinach, edamame, basil, Parmesan broth
This was very light and totally yummy!

Just so you are well aware, the Rink in Bryant Park is open until  March 4, 2018, 8am-10pm, weather permitting. I feel it is the best place to skate in the city, as opposed to Rockefeller Center. Be sure to give it a try when in the city during the winter months.

Bryant Park in the Summer

Bryant Park is one of the most fabulous places in New York City! This fabulous park located in such a busy, crazy, city is such a joy! It is fun 12 months a year, as always something going on, but in the summer months, it is even more special.

Bryant Park was the first home of NYC Fashion week, for about 16 years, before it moved to Lincoln Center in 2010. There are events going on all the time, and you can check their calendar to see what is scheduled when you are visiting.

This park is a great place to take a break, from all the sightseeing, and relax. The wonderful architecture that surrounds you, the NY Public Library - Bryant Park Hotel - Chrysler building in the distance, is something out of a dream. They play bocce ball, their restrooms have been dubbed the cleanest in the city, weddings are very common as photographs here are sublime.

Le Carrousel in Bryant Park is such a treat for the kids, and a beauty to see for the adults too. What  a wonderful tradition to keep alive for the youngsters of today.

Dining in Bryant Park has wonderful options as well. Bryant Park Cafe has a lovely space outside to enjoy the nice weather, the Southwest Porch equipped with rockers, swings, and Adirondack chairs typical of those found at expensive hotels and resorts, Lady M Cake Boutique is a marvelous choice to pick up a piece of cake and take it over to Bryant Park, you can pop in the Bryant Park Hotel's Japanese dining restaurant, Maison Kayser is located on West 40th Street,
- DON"T do Chipotle as it's a chain and there is so much better options! -
You are also right near Grand Central Terminal which has a fabulous foodie selection!

I hope you enjoy my photos below of Bryant Park, and that it lands on your Bucket List! It is truly a New York City gem!

Bryant Park is called a 4 acre urban oasis on Google maps. I think they have that just about right. Have you visited Bryant Park? What's your favorite area of the park?
