Lori Morris Design at the 2014 Architectural Digest Home Design Show

I was thrilled to attend the Architectural Digest Home Design Show in 2014, as did not make it last year. I was happy to see many different booths, a few were familiar from the 2012 show, but lots were new. This is the 13th annual show, and is always a great inspiration for designers as well as the general public.
This was something I actually saw on Instagram before the show started. I had to find it. It was just amazing. So beautiful. The designer used 2,500 roses in this art installation. I have some information about the project below from Lori Morris Design press folks.

Lori Morris Makes Debut at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show
The Interior Design Team will Collaborate with Celebrity Event Designer Preston Bailey to
Unveil Original Art Installation

New York, NY | March 18, 2014 – Making its showcase event debut at the Architectural Digest Home
Design Show March 20-23, Lori Morris will give spectators a preview of its unique luxury design
sensibility. For over twenty-five years, Lori Morris has carefully and consciously bridged the gap
between interiors that evoke style without adhering to trends or temporal tastes - curating spaces that
withstand the test of time and reinvent the standard.
Inspired by the simple elegance of a rose, Lori Morris chose to collaborate with renowned celebrity floral
expert and event designer Preston Bailey, whose clientele includes Oprah Winfrey, Joan Rivers, Uma
Thurman and Royal Families. The one-of-a-kind booth will be decorated with individual roses from floor
to ceiling. From the mirrored floor panels to the hanging crystal and pearl strands, each element of the
booth has been carefully selected to portray the Lori Morris vision as an original work of art. The ceiling
is the final component that ties the avant-garde display together. Surrounded by intricate fretwork, the
installation with its white high gloss finish is completed with a signature Lori Morris rosette logo taking
centre stage.
“The Architectural Digest Home Design Show is a prestigious event and we are very excited to be
involved in it for the first time.” says Janinna Caverly, Vice President, Lori Morris. “We really feel that the
collaboration with Preston Bailey is a great way to make our showcase debut, it’s going to be a very
unique experience for show attendees.”
The way the light was on this shot, the roses look a light orange, but they were actually a light pink. So beautiful !!

The professional photographer was there and agreed it was pretty gorgeous! I would have loved to see his photos of the installation.

I hope you enjoyed this first piece from the 2014 Architectural Digest Home Design Show. I have a few more wonderful items to show you, some fabulous tablescapes, and cool home design products!

This was one of my favorite displays from the 2014 show, and since it is coming up this week, thought I would share again with my readers!

My Favorite Displays at the Dining by Design New York 2014

I really had to show you my 2 favorite table settings at the 2014 Architectural Digest Home Design Show. Before we know it, the 2015 show will be upon us! This first one was just amazing, and designed by The New York Design Center and designer Kati Curtis. The design was pairing masculine with feminine side by side. The results were pretty awesome!

KNOLL WITH HOK was my second favorite
the concept of partnership is expressed with a team of blues and reds, which reflect the brand identities of knoll and the newly merged hok and bbg-bbgm.
really loved these chairs!
French macarons made me smile !!

Thank you for your support!

Architectural Digest and Ralph Lauren Home at DIFFA's National Dining By Design

We skip around alot on this blog, I hope that is okay with you! I just seem to have so many things to show you, and the time just flies by! The 2014 Architectural Digest Home Design Show was a real winner this year. It always blows your mind at the creative folks that are out there, they have such neat ideas. Many items at this show are quite on the expensive, but you can still re-create the looks on your own at a more budget friendly cost. It is so nice to see displays that give you ideas of what you can do in your own home.

As you start your walk around DIFFA, you are greeted with Ralph Lauren Home’s fresh & carefree dining area which was just gorgeous! You see here laid back linen, distressed wood and a gorgeous chandelier of twinkling blossoms & branches.
Is this not just a lovely table setting? Very relaxing and easy going. I have been a Ralph Lauren fan for a long time.
This table setting with the flower arrangement was one of my most favorites. Architectural Digest’s table played on the abstract theme, using two large scale custom patterns reminiscent of expressionist artists. I really loved the color in this display. I kept going back to it, it was just so amazing in person!
I thought this was almost better than at the Philadelphia Flower show! They really outdid themselves on this display!
The benches around the table were solid white, which went very well with the colorful table theme.
I really love the lampshade as well. What a great all around look!

The year 2014 is the DIFFA's 30th Anniversary of a major effort of targeting HIV/AIDS through direct care and preventative education. Their work has been extraordinary and hopefully there will be an end to this disease in the near future. You can read about their mission HERE.
