Gallery of Tiffany Lamps at NY Historical Society Part 1

I have been visiting the NY Historical Society a bit more these days. They have some really wonderful exhibitions on display of all subjects. The Gallery of Tiffany Lamps was something that I was excited to see, as I knew they were making a new space for the wonderful collection. I was blown away by this exhibit, so much that you will have 2 posts to enjoy these gorgeous works of art. I am such a huge fan of anything Tiffany, they just bring a smile to my face.

From the NY Historical Society:
As the centerpiece of the transformed fourth floor, the Gallery of Tiffany Lamps features 100 illuminated Tiffany lamps from our spectacular collection, displayed within a dramatically lit jewel-like space. Regarded as one of the world’s largest and most encyclopedic, the Museum’s Tiffany Lamp collection includes multiple examples of the Dragonfly shade, a unique Dogwood floor lamp (ca. 1900–06), a Wisteria table lamp (ca. 1901), and a rare, elaborate Cobweb shade on a Narcissus mosaic base (ca. 1902), among many others.

Just gorgeous!

I have a feeling every time I visit this place, I will be stopping here just to walk around and enjoy the beauty.

This shot came out great and shows how detailed these lamps are and the work that goes into each piece.
A different look of a Tiffany Lamp with a really gorgeous pineapple base.

The gorgeous stair case leading to the 2nd floor of the exhibit. They do have a mini elevator to take those in wheelchairs (or like myself who have an issue with no back steps!) to the 2nd floor. It is worth the trip!
