To give you an idea of what type of exhibits you will see at The Jewish Museum, here are some shots from my visit in January. This exhibit Take Me I'm Yours was very interesting!
From the museum website:
In a conventional museum experience, you, the visitor, may consume art only by looking at the paintings, sculptures, or photographs on view. You are not allowed to touch the works, and certainly not able to take them home. In defiance of this well-established standard, Take Me (I’m Yours) extends an invitation. Featuring works by more than forty artists from different generations and from all over the world, the exhibition asks you not only to get into close contact with the artworks, but to take them away and keep them for good.
Very interesting exhibit, I didn't take one of the pills below.
People were actually taking these clothes! I decided not to, but this is really
different from exhibits where you can't even touch anything!
Love this painting!
Loved this one too!
A very gorgeous couch with so much detail
The Jewish Museum is a great place to check out, and they have Russ and Daughters as their restaurant. Saturday the museum is open, but restaurant and gift shop not open, admission is free.
Their exhibits are always so interesting, and it is for sure one to add to your "NYC To Do List".
