One of my favorite chocolate shops in the city, is Vosges Haut-Chocolat, this shot taken at their Upper East Side location. Katrina Markoff, the owner, was originally trained in Paris at Le Cordon Blu and it shows. She uses the most unique flavors with her chocolate, combinations you may think is strange, but once tasted, is amazing to the palette. Bacon + Chocolate, Flowers + Chocolate, Chillies + Chocolate are just a few of the selections available.
I was thrilled to be able to try one of her great baking mixes, The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie. Here is Katrina showing you how it is done:

I made the smaller size cookies and the batch made about 33 of them. They did not spread very much, mainly raised in the baking process. This mix was very easy to do yourself and you did not have to add a lot more ingredients than what was provided.
The cookies are just amazing. The flavor is so rich, not overly sweet, the chocolate chunks broke up some and some stayed large but they are soft. They are chewy in the middle and crunchy on the edges. These mixes would be great for a gift but also if someone who cannot bake, wants to bake for someone. It would be a great treat making these, packing them in a lovely container, adding a bow and giving them to a special person. They would also be great for making for a special event, as they are for sure the Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie!!
Stay tuned to the blog for a fabulous giveaway from Vosges Haut-Chocolat !!
