Bergdorf Goodman window art is the only way I can describe their windows. The most recent when I was in the city in August for the US Open they unveiled a survey of the work of illustrator John Rombola, celebrating the recently published book, John Rombola, Eclectic Eccentric.
From Bergdorf's website:
Rediscovered by a new generation of art and design lovers, John Rombola’s rambunctious illustrations have been published from the 1950s to present. His drawings are reminiscent of Saul Steinberg, Ben Shahn and early Warhol… but with a flair that is Rombola’s own.
The windows exhibit a large number of Rombola’s illustrations – including his witty spin on society women; his vibrant New York City skylines; and his lush illustrations of his travels to carnivals, to Venice and to imagined places. In addition, our Visual Department created sculptural interpretations inspired by Rombola’s line drawings and mixed them with a selection of richly colored and patterned looks from our Fall 2010 Collections.

Let's take a peek at these gorgeous windows:
so full of whimsy and look at that huge hand !!
love the coat and the whole display....so cool
like I have said before, these windows are works of art ....clothes are not bad either!!
this gave a new word to the meaning " a big head" ...looks very cool however when Bergdorf does it !!
love the dress and again the display is just so amazing
these shoes are wonderful and great color but I would need to be carried around the whole day!!
the next windows were not part of the John Rombola book but wonderful nonetheless - great children's clothes window
these hair cut errors were really interesting
knowing NYC and how it starts trends, this could be the new hair style!! love this dress by the way...
I like the fact they framed the part that was cut out of the hair style......
Last but not least a gorgeous Alexander McQueen bag....how amazing would this be to own? love the skull detail as the opening.....such a talent gone way too soon.......

Very nice show! Unique art. Those purple pumps are too lovely!
I love your window display posts! It's the only way for me to see what department stores have come up with. I love the first coat and the McQueen clutch. J'adore!
Just thought you would like to know that I live in NYC yet you have opened my eyes to places I may have missed. Great blog.
