February Finds at The Savory Pantry

I am really thrilled to be introducing a new feature here on the blog and I hope you will like it. Our friends at The Savory Pantry, who are a longtime sponsor of this blog, will be featuring a monthly post of their unique finds. As you know, growing up in an Italian family, food was very important. We never had processed foods, my Mom made everything from scratch. As I grew older, my family and I became "foodies" and really enjoyed trying unique products. I credit my parents for making me see how fun it is to try new food products and experiment with them. I never really had to cook because my Mom always did it and did it so well, but since she got sick in 2013, I am now the cook. Turns out, I have the genes because homemade sauce, gnocchi and biscotti come pretty easy for me! The Savory Pantry is a fabulous place for the cook, for the foodie and I really adore their product selection. Their shop is located in Hot Springs, Arkansas but they do ship on their website which makes it easy for anyone to visit.
Our first two products go very well together. Lemon Sorbetti Loose Tea Canister
from Tea Forté is the first product. This loose tea is very aromatic, and based on Italy's famous sorbet, a true delight! As you probably know by now, my Mom is a very big lemon lover, so she was thrilled to be able to try this tea. We found it just wonderful with some honey added, it gave it just the right sweetness. There is something about loose tea that sets it apart from the rest. It makes me think of my local Valentine's Day tea where they served me tea bags. I was not impressed! This tea would also make a great gift as well.
The second product is Handmade Scottish Shortbread
by Shortbread House of Edinburgh and if you didn't know, I am a big tennis fan and also fan of Andy Murray who is from Scotland. Shortbread is like the wholly grail. It is such a rich, luscious dessert, probably one of my top 10 desserts. These are handmade and you can tell. They are so buttery and melt in your mouth. What a great partner with the tea! I would recommend these to anyone.
Here they are together! Don't they look like a great pair? My Mom is a big dunker and she dunked the shortbread in the tea and had such a grin on her face! I am so thrilled when she can enjoy treats like this during her day. These two items would make a lovely gift together for a friend or family member. I think you would be very popular if you were to do so, but they are also fabulous to treat yourself to as well.

I hope you enjoyed our first installment of monthly finds from The Savory Pantry. Please give their website a peek, they have great recipes as well as yummy gourmet treats. We will have 2 new products to showcase for March, so be on the lookout.
