The Frederick Stegmaier Mansion

Today's post is about a great bed and breakfast, The Frederick Stegmaier Mansion, where I will be attending a Downton Abbey tea this weekend!! This was my post from February of 2010 when they were featured in Victorian Homes Magazine. I am excited to obtain some original photos of my own this coming Saturday!!

The mansion was built in 1870 by a local architect Missoura B. Houpt, as his private residence. Frederick Stegmaier, president of the Stegmaier Brewery, purchased the mansion in 1906 where it remained in the Stegmaier family until the late 1940's. In 2001, Joseph Matteo acquired the mansion and meticulously restored it to its former opulence. The Victorian Homes magazine recently had a very nice article on the mansion which I thought I would share. It is truely a most beautiful piece of victorian magic !!!
It is quite a big deal to have a 15 page spread in this magazine !!

Their new chef, as of 2013, is

Jody Klocko

Regularly featured on the Food Network, you will enjoy extraordinary cuisine with our Executive Chef Jody Klocko. Among his numerous awards, Chef Klocko is a gold medal winner of the prestigious Coupe de Monde World Pastry Cup in Lyon, France.

Thank you for taking us into another world of elegance, manners, and sophistication.....we could all use a little bit more of this in today's crazy, hectic, sloppy world! Keep up the great posts, my dear blogging friend!
