Black Hound New York

Another recent trip to the city found me in the East Village on a just gorgeous fall day. The last few times I have been to the city the weather has been so wonderful, I am getting spoiled!! I was walking along and exploring when I came across the Black Hound New York. This is the ultimate cake place....their window was amazing.....as I struggled with the sun on this gorgeous day, I was able to get some great shots for you. Hope you are not viewing on an empty stomach.......
It is a cute tiny shop but has been around since 1988 and I will say before the next photos, they do ship !!
this birthday cake would be amazing....I love the way the chocolate looks like it is dripping off the sides!!
these little cakes are so gorgeous and decorated great for Halloween!
look at those little bees on that chocolate cake? so adorable!!
you can buy singles at the store in NYC or online they sell them in sets
love the little presents and black/white look ......too pretty to eat? I think I would get over it quickly!!
berries make such great decor but I wouldn't eat them.....
I am glad I have my birthday cake all picked out!!

Looks really great, but the balance between health and sickness is a problem in the american kitchen. Look at the size of the portions . After one you are ready for the whole day. How do you do it. Of course it is great comfort food but still.

S.C. - these are not single portions...the little cakes serve maybe 6 to 8 people and the larger ones even more. These should be for a special treat, not an everyday option. I agree the portions in the US are too large and when I eat out, I often bring half home to have for another day. Many do not do that which is not really good. I like the way the French adapt food that they eat everything but in little portions. I try to do that myself each day. :)
