Congrats to Derek Jeter on 3,000 hits

I had to do a post to say what an accomplishment for Derek Jeter today of the New York Yankees! 3,000 hits is quite amazing to achieve in a career but I am not surprised. The photo above taken by myself at a game where Derek was sitting on the dugout signing for the fans.
this shot I took at Yankee Stadium....that is Lee Mazzilli to the right as their coach
this was taken at Fenway Park in 2001, a wonderful historic stadium
This photo is a very young Derek, from 1997, the year after they won the 1996 World Series. I have followed his career since the beginning and could tell from back then he was going to be quite successful. My friend and I who attended this Fan Fest in the city took our own lives in our hands by cutting a huge line (people were camped out actually) to be sure we got to meet Derek and get his autograph. I am glad we did as I shot this great photo. He looks so young and innocent!!

Congrats again to Derek and his family.......time to celebrate!!!

Yay for Derek Jeter! I was so happy for him to reach this milestone at Yankee Stadium!

How are you? Did you go to McQueen at the Met yet? I still want to go back to see it again but am curious about how the crowds are these days. My husband was at the Met a couple of weeks ago on a Friday night and said he saw the line and it was long...

It was great to happen at Yankee Stadium, for sure...good for him.

I am going to the McQueen next Wednesday and very excited. We have pre-purchased our tickets so hopefully it won't be too bad to get in....hoping weather is nice and not too hot!!
